Evacuation alerts issued due to the Mine Creek fire have been downgraded and affected properties have been moved to all clear.
On Friday, The Thompson-Nicola Regional District moved 85 properties, including the community of Brookmere, to all clear as of noon on Friday.
“Should conditions change, an Evacuation Alert and/ or an Evacuation Order will be reinstated as necessary,” the TNRD said.
The Fraser Valley Regional District has also rescinded an evacuation alert for the Coquihalla Lakes area (including the Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area north to the boundary of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District).
Both alerts had been in place since Sept. 8 and replaced evacuation orders issued Sept.3.
The Mine Creek wildfire continues to burn out of control and is estimated at about 3,006 hectares.
However, the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) said the fire is displaying to be Rank 1 (smouldering ground fire) and Rank 2 (low vigour surface fire) fire behaviour.
There are 49 firefighters, eight pieces of heavy equipment and seven helicopters working on the fire on Friday.
