A release issued by the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) stated that due to a large number of interface fires burning within the Cariboo region, full suppression in the area is not possible at this time.
The BC Wildfire Service is monitoring these fires continuously.
While smoke from fires in the Quesnel Lake area is visible from surrounding areas, public safety and property in other nearby areas, including the Likely area, is not threatened at this time.
The BC Wildfire Service is conducting work with heavy equipment on the fire in the Abbott Creek area on the north side of Quesnel Lake.
