At times it felt like it would never cool down, but the heat warning is finally over.

Things will cool down a bit and we could see the odd shower or thundershower over the next few days, although it is still summer in the Okanagan so it’ll still be fairly warm out there.

“The gradual cooling trend has started while an upper trough shifts over B.C.,” said Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist. “Temperatures will be in the upper 20s and low 30s over the next couple of days.”

“Although mornings will be brighter with sun, expect more clouds to develop in the afternoon with a breeze. An isolated afternoon shower with the risk of a thundershower is also possible through the next few days.”

No heat warning doesn’t mean no sunscreen, as the UV index is still expected to get to a ‘very high’ nine today.

You shouldn’t have any issues with allergies, however, as the pollen index remains ‘low’ and it looks like we’re well through allergy season.
