This is some breaking news!

  • Disneyland will close its gates to the public starting on Saturday

It’s taken its toll on the sports world over the last 24 hours, now it’s shutting down the happiest place on earth.

Disneyland is the latest to announce a closure amid fears regarding the spread of coronavirus.

The theme park released a statement today saying that Friday would be the last day of operation through the end of the month.

The closure affects both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

“We will monitor the ongoing situation and follow the advice and guidance of federal and state officials and health agencies,” said the statement.

While the parks are closed, Disney has said that it will continue to pay cast members.

Disneyland Resort, which will remain open until Monday, March 16, will also work with guests who wish to change or cancel their upcoming visits and refunds will be provided.

This will be just the fourth time Disneyland has had an unscheduled closure.

The first three were when John F. Kennedy was killed, after the Northridge earthquake in 1994 and on Sept. 11, 2001.
