    Cseking In with Angie Norman

In this episode of Cseking In, we sat down with Angie Norman, president and partner of Westwood Fine Cabinetry, about her second generation family business as it celebrates 50 years in operation.

Started in 1972 by Angie’s father, Westwood Fine Cabinetry has become a highly-valued, community-oriented Okanagan company. And although Angie wasn’t initially interested in taking over, the business quickly became her pride and joy when she started working for her father after graduating from university with a science degree.

“At that point, there was not any girls or ladies in construction, and there [I was] out and about on job sites with the contractors,” she laughs. Her dad never had expectations for her and her sister to continue the family business, but now, the two of them, plus her brother-in-law, operate the business as partners.

Since Angie’s husband is also an entrepreneur, business is very much woven into her family’s lives. “Everybody talks business at the dinner table, always!” she says, speaking about her, her husband, and her children.

Watch the full episode to hear about the history of this beloved Okanagan business and learn how Angie discovered her calling in running her father’s company.
