  • City installs solar panel road

    The City of Prince George has partnered with YCS Holdings Ltd. to install solar panel pavement near City Hall.

    All electricity generated from the solar panels will help meet needs while at the same time supplying additional power for other to use.

    This pilot project is part of the City’s continuing efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

    Energy generated from the panels can be tracked in real-time and compared across season and environmental conditions.

    The photovoltaic panels are fixed directly onto the pavement with no need to disturb the existing roadworks and areo durable enough to last through all types of weather and traffic.

    Funding for the project came from YCS Holdings Ltd. and Wattway.
