An information session will be held on November 23rd to discuss the future of Cottonwood Island Nature Park and a portion of the Heritage River Trail. The meeting will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Prince George Public Library.

The open house will be to discuss engineering operations and how they are expected to help prevent further erosion to the park and its trails.

DWB Consulting Services (DWB) is exploring preferred options for the provision and protection of the riverfront and trails. The company will be making a presentation at the open house at 6 p.m.

“The riverfront trail system was analyzed by DWB with a recommended option selected for each section of trail depending upon the severity of the erosion, the feasibility of the operation, and the most suitable solution over the long-term,” says project manager Michael le Morvan. “Each of the options differs in their overall cost and impact to the Nechako riverside habitat. We are excited to be able to share these options with residents who love this unique part of Prince George.”

The City of Prince George will present their information to Council for consideration of a multi-year project. All are encouraged to fill out a feedback form at the Public Library or by clicking here. The deadline for the feedback is December 8th.
