The Kelowna Chiefs can wrap up their opening Kootenay International Junior Hockey League series tonight in Osoyoos.

Lane Paddison scored twice and assisted on a goal while Braeden Mitchell stopped all 28 shots he faced as the Chiefs defeated the host Osoyoos Coyotes 4-0 at the Sun Bowl on Friday.

A win tonight will earn the Chiefs a berth in the division final against either the second-place Summerland Steam or the third-place Princeton Posse.

The Steam doubled the host Posse 4-2 on Friday to take a 2-1 lead in that series. The two teams meet again in Princeton tonight.

Paddison converted passes from linemate Ryan Stack for a goal in each of the first two periods while he returned the favor to help set up Stack’s goal in the third. Kayson Gallant was the other Kelowna marksman with a PP goal early in the final frame of the encounter that saw the Chiefs fire 41 shots on losing goaltender Daniel Paul.
