  • Celebrating Summer’s Beauty with Bloom Sunflower Festival

The little town of Armstrong has something new and colourful popping up this year. Four acres of sunflowers in a winding field of stunning photo opportunities and u-pick choices from Bloom Sunflower Flower Festival!

Originally located in Abbotsford, B.C., flower and photo opp enthusiasts from the Okanagan no longer have such a long commute to bask in the blooms. The Warmerdam family has been growing flowers in BC since immigrating from the Netherlands.

Now into their third generation of flower growers, the Warmerdams have passed a special heritage down. It’s not only a love for growing flowers that makes this family special, it’s also their love for giving back and creating strong communities. Bloom Flower Festivals have allowed the Warmerdams to donate $120,000 to the community over the last four years.

This is the first year for the North Okanagan's sunflower festival, here's what to expect during your visit; a pastoral drive through Armstrong's farm community, the property is easy to find. With ample, free parking, you'll make your way to the fields and follow the one way path that winds through the towering flowers. The path is stroller and all-ages friendly. Stretching their faces towards the sun, you'll be mesmerized by the whimsical feeling of being surrounded by these joyful giants.

With photo props such as hot air balloon baskets, balloons, benches, and of course, the flowers themselves, you'll leave with a memory card full of family photos. Furry family members on leashes are also welcome. Dress appropriately for the weather, boots are recommended if the weather has been wet. Sun protection is also recommended.

Book your tickets and time slot online to save money. If you missed the sunflowers this summer, don't worry, we have Bloom's Tulip Festival to eagerly await in spring!
