(UPDATE: Aug. 22 @ 6:30 p.m.) – The second annual Cub Crawl has been postponed due to air quality concerns.

The event will now take place on Sept. 15.

However, there will be an open house this coming Saturday, from noon until 1 p.m., so participants and parents can get a sneak peak at the Cub Crawl obstacles.

Kids can expect a muddy obstacle course, including ropes to climb, monkey bars, sack races, water tubes to slide through, slippery hills to climb and so much more.

(Original story: June 7 @ 1 p.m.) – The producers of Kelowna’s first canine obstacle course aren’t stopping there.

This summer, they’ll also be bringing a similar event to Kelowna that’s meant for kids, which will be called the Black Mountain Cub Crawl.

The family friendly event will see kids aged 6-14 give their all to complete a fun and exciting, and most important muddy, obstacle course.

“We wanted to create a fun, healthy event for youth in the community,” says Rhonda Laturnus, founder of Results 4 Life Fitness Inc. who is teaming up with Rebellious Unicorns Production Company Inc. (RUPC) to create the event.

RUPC’s executive producer, Dustin Baulkham, shared his excitement for the event as well and explained that it will be for a great cause too.

“Not only does this event encourage youth and families to get outside and get active, but we’re also raising money for a great cause,” said Baulkham

“Black Mountain Cub Crawl is teaming up with The Okanagan Boys and Girls Club, a local organization whose mission is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life.”

The goal for the event is to raise over $5,000 to support Pink Shirt Day and anti-bullying initiatives.

The Black Mountain Cub Crawl will take place on Aug. 25, 2018 and registration opens online on Friday at 7:30 a.m., starting at $29 per participant for the first 50 entries, at which point it'll jump to $39.
