In this episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, Rob Cupello is joined by Ranvir Nahal, president of Sunterra Custom Homes, owner of ModTrend Exteriors and a big part of the Bollywood Bang event.

Ranvir Nahal is the brother of the late Vernon councillor and organizer of Bollywood Bang, Dalvir Nahal, who passed away in September of 2021.

Today he sits down with Rob to talk about his businesses, healing from grief, and the return of Bollywood Bang. 

“I think the loss of any loved one will definitely slow you down… lots of reflection came out of the losses and it poured out into lots of components of my life,” says Nahal. 

Nahal has been working hard to continue his sister's legacy, playing a huge role in organizing this year’s Bollywood Bang event, set to take place in Vernon on June 10th.

Every year, Bollywood Bang attracts hundreds of people to Vernon for a night of food, music, culture, and fun.

“It’s one of the funnest nights of the year, it’s always been known to be a party… but the roots are extremely important.” 

The event has raised over $300,000 for a variety of charities and has been a staple in the Vernon community.

Nahal describes in depth the ways his healing journey has touched his life and his approach to business.

“I revisited all my businesses and how I want to structure them, participate in them, and how I want to interact with my team… when you go through the process and journey of healing, that’s when some of the inspiration kicks in,” he comments.
