The Kamloops Blazers aren’t done yet.

The Memorial Cup hosts kept their WHL season alive with a hard-fought game five victory in Seattle on Saturday night, doubling up the Thunderbirds 4-2.

Dylan Ernst was spectacular with the team’s season on the line, turning aside 36 of 38 shots he faced in the victory.

After a scoreless first period, it was Jared Davidson who opened the scoring with his ninth of the playoffs 6:25 into the second.

Kamloops would tie it up later in the middle frame thanks to Matthew Seminoff, who would kick off the third with another goal in the opening minute to give the Blazers a 2-1 lead.

Ryan Hofer added a goal 23 seconds later to extend the lead and it was Hofer again around five minutes into the period to extend the lead to 4-1.

Seattle would respond quickly, as Reid Schaefer found the back of the net 17 seconds later, but that would be the end of the scoring in game five and Kamloops would hold on to win 4-2.

The two teams now head to Kamloops for game six on Monday night, another must-win for the Blazers as they trail the series 3-2.
