The Kamloops Blazers have locked up one of their top picks from the 2024 WHL draft.
Defenseman Joaquin Geras signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club after attending the club’s development camp this past weekend.
Geras, the Blazers’ second-round pick, 26th overall, in May, is the second prospect from this year’s draft to put pen to paper with Kamloops.
First-round pick Asher Gingras, who was taken just four spots ahead of Geras, signed his WHL deal with the club last week.
“We would like to welcome Joaquin and his family to the Kamloops Blazers organization,” said GM and head coach Shaun Clouston. “We are excited to be a part of Joaquin’s development over the coming seasons.”
The Calgary native played the 2023-24 season with the EDGE School U15 Prep team, posting six goals and 22 helpers in 27 games.
