  • Blazers forward Caedan Bankier inks his first NHL contract

Caedan Bankier has signed his first NHL deal, a three-year entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild.

The 20-year-old forward was a third-round pick, 86th overall, of the Wild in the 2021 NHL entry draft.

Bankier has 30 goals and 32 assists in 44 games with the Blazers so far this year, which includes a whopping 22 multi-point games.

The 6’2”, 190 lbs native of White Rock has 165 career points in 189 WHL games, all with Kamloops.

Bankier also represented Team Canada at the World Juniors in December and January, notching an assist in seven games and earning a gold medal.

He will battle for a spot on the Wild in training camp this coming fall, but will likely hone his game with the AHL’s Iowa Wild for a couple of years before making any impact in the NHL.

On Wednesday, Blazers forward Ryan Hofer signed an entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals.
