Big Brothers Big Sisters raised over $22,000 for their mentoring program during their Big Gala event.

Over 200 people attended the April 7 gala.

“It shows how much the community supports our programs and what Big Brothers Big Sisters does,” says Darbi Brand, Big brothers Big Sisters Community Development Manager.

The third annual gala was host to a wide variety of entertainment including a Havana Nights theme, dinner, drinks as well as silent and live auctions.

All funds raised will go to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentorship program that aims at pairing up youth with an adult in hopes of creating positive guidance.

“To know the community really supports us is great,” said Brand.

“There were a bunch of different opportunities for people to go out that evening and the fact that 200 people decided to come and spend their night with us is great to see.”

According to Brand, Big Brothers Big Sisters is already planning next year’s Big Gala event.
