It comes as no surprise, but Metalocalypstick has announced that it’s cancelled for 2020.
The music festival that puts an emphasis on women in metal and rock was scheduled to take place in Lone Butte, BC on June 27-28.
They will not be attempting to reschedule for later in the year and hope to return in 2021, which they predict will be “an amazing year for events.”
“We hope everyone is alive and well in these odd times,” said Kaija Kinney, festival organizer. “This was a big decision for us and we are devastated that this will not be our fifth annual year.”
The festival prides itself on showing femine power in heavy music and last year hosted bands from Canada, Tasmania, Mexico, Egypt and the USA.
It’s also a non-profit organization that gives back by donating 100% of festival proceeds to Girls Rock Camp and Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter.
