If you have plans to travel east along the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) today, you’ll need to plan your trip around avalanche control.
Crews will be working in two separate spots and two different times today, with both jobs expected to close the highway for two hours.
The first will begin at 8 am and last until 10 am between Griffin Lake and Clanwilliam Bridge, west of Revelstoke.
Then, crews will move east of Revelstoke to perform avalanche control just east of Canyon Hot Springs from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm.
In both cases, no detour is available, which means your travel will need to be worked around these two closures.
