  • Allegedly impaired semi driver gets rig stuck on train tracks in BC

Mounties in Prince George were called out to assist a semi driver who became stuck in a precarious spot earlier this week.

Officers responded to the incident in the 1900 block of River Road around 1:30 pm Tuesday, where a semi had become stuck on the train tracks.

According to the RCMP, officers noted “several signs of possible alcohol impairment on the driver” when they arrived.

As a result, they demanded a breath sample, which the driver failed.

“The driver was subsequently arrested and brought back to the Prince George RCMP detachment for a full impaired driving investigation,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

A pair of breath samples provided to police at the detachment registered as nearly double the legal limit.

The driver, who was issued a 90-day administrative driving prohibition, was released from custody with a future court date and the semi was impounded.
