Several evacuation orders and alerts have been lifted in the Princeton area following last week’s flooding concerns.

Evacuation orders and alerts began being issued last Thursday following heavy rainfall that triggered high streamflow advisories for the Tulameen and Similkameen rivers.

Parts of downtown Princeton, the Princeton Municipal Campground and several rural properties were under orders to leave or were on alert due to rising river levels.

Some of those river advisories lasted until Tuesday.

However, as of Friday afternoon, there are no active orders or alerts in place in the Regional District of Okanagan-Simlikameen.

“Regional partners, including Lower Similkameen Indian Band (LSIB), Upper Similkameen Indian Band (USIB), Town of Princeton, Village of Keremeos, and Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS), continue to monitor weather conditions across the region,” the RDOS said in an update.

In addition to no evacuation orders or alerts, there are also no streamflow advisories in place.

Although orders and alerts have been rescinded, Highway 3 remains partially closed as crews continue to address a large washout.
