The blue skies are back, but a special air quality statement remains in effect for a large part of B.C.

Environment Canada, in collaboration with Interior and Northern Health Authorities, issued the reminder early on Monday morning.
 

While things look good over the Okanagan at the moment, “smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.”

In the meantime, Environment Canada is still recommending that the public avoid strenuous outdoor activities when possible.

If you experience difficulty breathing, chest pain, sudden onset of cough or irritation of airways, you’re advised to contact your health care provider.

Monday’s forecast for Kelowna calls for cooler temperatures, with a high of just 22°C, and even a small chance of more showers.

The rest of the week should see sunshine with highs in the mid to high 20s.
