Breaking News:

This is some breaking news!

  • A smoky and hot day for the Okanagan

It’ll be another smoking hot day in the Okanagan, but not only because there’s some smoke lingering around the valley.

That smoke will likely stay trapped in the valley for most of the day as temperatures soar over 30°C.

“More sun and more heat is in the forecast under the persistent ridge of high pressure,” explains Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist. “Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 30s again today.”

“Unfortunately with this stable weather pattern, we will also see some of the wildfire smoke trapped in parts of the valley.”

Unsurprisingly, it’s another day to slap on that sunscreen as the UV index will get up to a ‘very high’ eight.

It seems like the worst of allergy season is over, however, as the pollen index is once again low and that doesn’t appear like it will change any time soon.

Have a super Thursday Kelowna, we’re inching towards that weekend!
