  • A pair of defencemen commit to the Warriors for 2019-20

The West Kelowna Warriors continue to add pieces to the roster for the 2019-20 season.

Over the weekend, Nick Ardanaz and David Dach both committed to playing for West Kelowna this fall.

Ardanaz, 16, spent the last four seasons with the Delta Wild Academy and was a highly sought after recruit.

The 5’8”, 150 lbs Langley native recently committed to the University of New Hampshire and says he models his game after Torey Krug of the Boston Bruins.

“You can expect an offensive minded puck moving defender who can play a two way game,” he said. “I’m not afraid to jump in and create opportunities.”

Dach, 18, comes to the Warriors from the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers AAA and chose the Warriors rather than staying in Alberta to play in the AJHL.

The 5’9”, 176 lbs defenceman cited head coach Brandon West as one of the reason he chose to come out to B.C.

“Brandon is one of the main reasons why I picked the Warriors,” Dach explained.

“The Warriors are also one of the top teams around for sending players to the NCAA. I pride myself on my academics, not only hockey, so the Warriors seemed like an obvious fit.”

Dach compares his well-rounded two-way game to Jared Spurgeon of the Minnesota Wild.
