To help our friends and families dealing with an ASD diagnosis, we’ve compiled a list of the top PG resources for parents to use with children on the autism spectrum.
Pacific Autism Family Network

PAFN is a self-described one stop shop for all your autism needs.
From pre-diagnosis to aspie adults, they are here to be a wealth of information.
If you have questions about anything autism related, this center should definitely be one of the first places you call.

Sources Positive Behaviour Support

Sources is a community resource society that offers an array of social wellness programs and services.
They are continually expanding to meet the needs of the community and will provide the support and encouragement that a spectrum diagnosis will need.

The Native Friendship Centre

The Native friendship centre offers many therapy programs that someone with ASD may need, including peech-language pathologists (SLP), Occupational therapy (OT) and much more.

The Child Development Centre of Prince George and District

Another great resource for kids zero to five years old is the CDC.
They also offer SLP, OT and Physiotherapy.
All services are funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development so there is no fee to you and your family.

The Special Olympics BC- Prince George

SOBC-Prince George is home to over 160 local athletes!
This is a great place for someone who is excited about sports as it offers over 16 programs including bowling, basketball, cross-country skiing, curling, golf, powerlifting, rhythmic gymnastics, snowshoeing, soccer, swimming and hockey.

Gateway Behavioral Services

The GBS office is located in the new PAFN centre and provides behaviour intervention, behaviour consultation, parent educational training, community outings, social skills, playgroups and more.

Northern Interior Autism Society Facebook Page

Sometimes the best support is found through people that have been where you are going.
The Northern Interior Autism Society facebook page is run by moms who have children on the spectrum.
They are responsible (with partners) for the annual Prince George Autism Awareness walk and were a main advocate for the new PAFN center.
Topics range from school choices to coffee dates and everything in between.
