Since becoming a city in 2007, there hasn’t been a version of West Kelowna council that hasn’t included Carol Zanon.
She has been voted in by residents for five straight elections and she will be looking to increase that number to six next month.
Zanon has confirmed that she will be seeking re-election on Oct. 15 and feels that she still has a lot to accomplish.
“I love our city,” said Zanon. “I am proud of what council has accomplished in the past four years.”

She cited Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant, a new city hall and library complex, an urgent and primary care centre and upgrades to Gellatly and Shannon Lake roads as accomplishments from council over the past four years.
Looking forward, these are initiatives that she wants to see completed in the coming years:
- Getting the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant operational
- Opening the new city hall and library complex
- A second power line serving West Kelowna
- Affordable seniors’ housing and social services
Zanon has lived in West Kelowna since 1998 and has been actively involved in the community beyond her role on council as a past chair of the Westbank Irrigation District and Central Okanagan Library.
As for why residents should vote for her again come election day, Zanon said the following:
“I have the experience, expertise and enthusiasm to get the job done!”
