After a great 2019-20 season with the Kamloops Blazers, Max Martin has signed a professional contract.
On Thursday, the defenseman inked an AHL deal with the Texas Stars, the AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars.
He was acquired by Kamloops from the Prince Albert Raiders just four games into the 2019-20 season and managed 14 goals and 44 assists for 58 points in 57 games with the Blazers.
Martin was fifth in defenseman scoring in the WHL and led the league’s defenseman in powerplay assists with 28.
The 6’5”, 195 lbs Winnipeg native helped Prince Albert win the WHL championship in 2019 and ends his five-year WHL career with 164 points in 271 games.
