  • The CJHL has cancelled the remainder of the Junior A season

There will be no trophies handed out in the CJHL this season.

The nationwide hockey association, which includes the BCHL, announced today that the season had been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

CJHL president Brent Ladds said the league was aligning its direction to be consistent with that of Hockey Canada, which prompted the complete shut down.

“We extend our extreme gratitude, understanding and commend the due diligence put forth by the CJHL’s Executive Board, each of our 10 league commissioners/presidents, their staffs and respective clubs and Hockey Canada in their commitment to safeguard all those involved in our wonderful game,” said Ladds.

Each of the CJHL’s 10 member leagues had just begun their playoffs and there would have been 10 champions crowned across the country.

From there, four regional championship events would have been held, followed by the annual national championship, the Centennial Cup.
