Okanagan College basketball teams won three out four games at Camosun College in Victoria this past weekend, as both teams battled for positions in the upcoming playoffs.
In men’s action, both teams battled hard with the lead changing numerous times. At half time, Okanagan went into the dressing room down 42-41 in a back and forth affair.

OC got some big plays out of various players but the big play of the evening went to Seth Blundell with a thundering dunk on an alley oop pass from Eric Marbury. OC went on to and win over a very good Camosun team 91-88.
Top scorers Matt Lafontaine with 25, Seth Blundell and Eric Marbury with 14, Hunter Hughes with 13 and Tanner Sandberg with 10 points.
Saturday’s game was once again intense. OC went into the half time break behind 49-46. The third quarter was the turning point with OC winning the 3rd 34-18 and that carried them to another win defeating Camosun 98-83.
Top scorers Eric Marbury with 29 points and five assists, Matt Lafontaine with 18, Tanner Sandberg with 16, Seth Blundell and Jesse Vissia each had 11 points.

"These were huge wins for our team and for the program, Camosun is very tough and well-coached and we had so many guys step up, we had a great week of practice that lead us right into two big wins," said coach Dino Gini.
In Okanagan women’s game on Friday evening, Jordan Andres had 25 points with 10/10 from the free-throw line and Sapna Deo added 21 points while Jordan Kemper led our team in rebounding with 14 rebounds as well as 10 points for a double-double.
We battled back scoring 29 points in the fourth but came up short losing 80-74. With a quick turn around the women’s team was back on the court on Saturday morning. Okanagan came out strong up 19-16 after the first and 31-26 going into half time while never losing a quarter.

Jordan Andres finished with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists while her sister Kennedy had 15 points on 5/9 shooting.
“The second game we played solid defensively for 4 quarters and did a good job taking away the 3 point shot," said coach Andrew Gini.
Both the women’s and men’s teams are back in action on Feb. 14 at our Penticton Campus, women’s play at 6 pm and men’s at 8 pm.
