  • Warriors look to stay hot as they start island road trip tonight

The West Kelowna Warriors have been a completely different hockey team since the BCHL trade deadline.

There were a number of moves and fans likely didn’t know what to expect from the struggling club, but it’s been a revitalization of sorts.

All of a sudden, the team is motoring with six wins in their last eight games.

They’ll look to keep the hot streak going as they begin a three-game road trip on Vancouver Island.

It begins in Victoria against the Grizzlies this evening, continues against the Nanaimo Clippers on Wednesday and will finish up against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Thursday.

With the Grizzlies just four points ahead of the Warriors in the standings, it’s a good chance for West Kelowna to gain some ground.

The Prince George Spruce Kings are the same amount of points ahead of the Warriors, which means they’ll surely have the defending league champions in their sites as well.

Those Spruce Kings will be in West Kelowna for the Warriors’ next home game, which is Saturday night at Royal LePage Place.
