  • Another winter storm warning issued for Hwy 3

It hasn’t been a good week for anyone looking to travel through the Kootenay Pass.

Environment Canada has issued another winter storm warning for the section of Hwy 3 with more than a foot of snow expected over the next couple of days.

The alert calls for 15 to 25 centimetres by Saturday morning before another 10 to 15 cm falls Saturday during the day.

“Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions,” says the alert.

Hwy 3 was already closed for two days earlier this week due to a high risk of avalanches along the route.
