Breaking News:

This is some breaking news!

  • A few sunny breaks before heavy snow hits tonight

The sun is expected to poke its head out from behind the clouds a few times today, but once it sets, the snow is on the way.

Environment Canada has even issued a snowfall warning, which calls for 10 centimetres of snow in West Kelowna and Peachland.

The rest of the Okanagan is expected to get around 5 cm of snow.

"An atmospheric river will bring ample moisture with snow on Thursday night for many parts of our region,” explains Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist.

“As freezing levels rise on Friday we will likely see the snow change to mixed precipitation or rain.”

English says daytime highs will be near freezing today, but rise to a couple of degrees above 0°C on Friday.
