  • UPDATE: Hwy 97 reopens at Spall after early morning police incident

    (UPDATE: 1 pm) – It's now been confirmed that a police incident was the reason for the Hwy 97 shutdown this morning.

    (UPDATE: 6:25 am) – A lengthy closure of Hwy 97 has ended, just in time for the morning rush.

    The main artery through Kelowna was shut down overnight after a crash and was closed northbound to traffic between Spall Road and Cooper Road.

    (Original story: 6:10 am) – The main artery through Kelowna is partially closed this morning.

    Hwy 97 is closed northbound between Spall Road and Cooper Road following an overnight crash.

    Police remain on the scene and there’s a detour via Enterprise Road or Springfield Road.

    However, if the road remains closed as the morning commute picks up, there will surely be some congestion along those two routes and delays as a result.
