  • Warriors fall in overtime to visiting Nanaimo Clippers

    Matt Kowalski scored twice and the West Kelowna Warriors fired 46 shots on goal but still fell 3-2 in a shootout to the visiting Nanaimo Clippers in B.C. Hockey League action on Saturday.

    Kowalski opened the scoring with the only goal of the first period and sandwiched his fourth goal of the season between those of Nanaimo’s Ethan Scardina and Joshua Bourne in the third.

    Landon Pavlisin stopped 44 of 46 shots to earn the win in the Nanaimo goal while Connor Hopkins took the goaltending loss after giving up two goals on 34 shots.

    The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday at Royal LePage Place when they play host to the Chilliwack Chiefs beginning at 7 p.m.
