  • Air Canada adds new, twice-daily direct flights between Kelowna and Edmonton

Travelling between the Okanagan and Alberta’s capital city just got a lot easier.

Air Canada has added a pair of daily flights between Kelowna and Edmonton, which began flying on Monday.

The flights leave Kelowna at 9:30 a.m. and 4:55 p.m. each day, arriving in Edmonton at 11:51 a.m. and 7:16 p.m. respectively.

Heading the other way, they’ll depart Edmonton International Airport (YEG) at 8:40 a.m. and 4:05 p.m., landing at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) at 8:59 a.m. and 4:24 p.m.

Ignoring the time change, the running time for the flight is one hour and 21 minutes heading east and one hour and 19 minutes heading west.

"Consistent and convenient air service is vital to connect travelers with new destinations and to entice return visits," said Lisanne Ballantyne, president and CEO of Tourism Kelowna.

"These additional routes support the central Okanagan's growing popularity for leisure and business visitors seeking relaxing vacations or a vibrant meetings and event destination.”

These routes will be flown year round by Air Canada’s Bombardier Q400.
