The average Victoria resident must make $20.50 an hour in order to cover all necessary costs.
This is the amount of money needed for a family of four with two parents working full-time and includes necessities such as groceries, rent, childcare and medical services.

The living wage is determined by calculating the amount a family of four needs to earn and meet most expenses.
It does not include debt repayment or savings for future plans.
In the past year, the living wage has increased by 50 cents.
Though a high cost, Vancouver has set the bar for the highest hourly income at $20.91.
