Justin Bieber, Drake and The Weeknd all continue to put Canada on the map in the world of popular music, but it’s a fresh face up and comer that will be the focus at this year’s Grammys.
Alessia Cara leads the way when it comes to Canadians with three nominations for the 2018 awards.

Cara is up for Best New Artist and is also up for Best Pop Duo Performance for her and Zedd’s song ‘Stay’ and Best Music Video for Logic’s song ‘1-800-273-8255’, which features her and Khalid.
“Really honoured to be given this kind of acknowledgement,” the 21-year-old wrote on Twitter. “I’m not sure what to say or feel at the moment, but for now, thank you to everyone in my corner for all your love.”
Fellow Canadians Justin Bieber and Daniel Caesar also earned multiple nominations, as both are up for a pair of Grammys.

Canadians who received a single nomination include Michael Buble, The Weeknd, Sarah McLachlan, Arcade Fire and Adventure Club’s Leighton James and Christian Srigley.
The 2018 Grammys take place at Madison Square Garden in New York on January 28th.
