Canada reacts to the death of ‘our friend Gord’

Justin Trudeau may have said it best on Wednesday morning.

Canada’s prime minister fought back tears as he talked about Gord Downie, referring to the Tragically Hip frontman as “our buddy Gord.”

Downie truly was a friend of all Canadians, whether you’re a diehard fan of The Tragically Hip or have just heard their music in passing.

He truly loved Canada and Canada sure loved him back, and on Wednesday the tributes poured in following the announcement of his death.
