One of the best feelings this time of year is sinking into your comfiest chair with a delicious cup of your favourite hot drink. That cozy feeling makes the onset of winter almost bearable and it's made even better when someone else makes the drink for you, especially when it's something you just can't replicate at home!
Here are our favourite spots around town with ultimate comfy vibes and delicious sips!
Chai latte at the Marmalade Cat Café
The Marmalade Cat exudes the kind of coziness that you would find at your grandmother's house, a little quirky, but ultimately comfortable and welcoming!
The little tables are perfect for an unplugged coffee date with a friend and their chai latte is the perfect thing to sip on while chatting away. This chai is so creamy and smooth, it's not like any chai you've ever had. Seriously decadent, it's the perfect thing for a chilly day. To boot, the bright and cheery interior of the Marmalade Cat will make you forget the gloom of winter's arrival!
Matcha latte at Chai Baba
Forget the fast-paced atmosphere of most coffee shops as the tea ninjas at Chai Baba craft their matcha lattes with the time and consideration of a Zen master. It's a "labour of love," says owner Crystal Russel.
You can craft your perfect tea by picking your desired sweetness level, your favourite milk or even add a flavour if you're feeling it, coconut and raspberry to name a few. Let the powers of green tea uplift you while you soak up the good vibes in the sanctuary that is Chai Baba. The plants, soft lights, cozy low seats and wonderful smells make it the perfect spot to relax and recharge.
Caramel hot chocolate at Bean Scene Big White
Bean Scene has a few wonderfully cozy locations around Kelowna, but none are quite as cozy as their little shop tucked under Snowshoe Sams at Big White!
Their caramel hot chocolate is the perfect indulgence for either pre- or après-ski, to enjoy from inside while looking out at the snowy village, or to take with you as you brave the conditions outside. Their rich hot chocolate gets topped with cool whip cream, chocolate chunks and a generous drizzle of caramel sauce. It doesn't get much cozier than that!
Cedar spice latte at Canoe Coffee Roasters
Once described as "Pumpkin spice's older, cooler, brother," this flavour upgrade will encapsulate fall for you in a way the regular ol' pumpkin spice simply can't. The woodsy scent, combined with fresh whip cream and the bold flavour of hand-roasted ethical coffee – this drink will be sure to make you a regular at both the farmer's market and at Canoe's shop on High Road.
Although it's nice to peruse the farmer's market with a coffee in hand, their shop on High Street is an excellent spot to just kick back and relax. It not only has a big comfy couches and a super cool mural to admire, excellent company is never far away either – Canoe seems to draw in some of Kelowna's most interesting people. Settle into and embrace that fall feeling!
Classic Latte at Third Space
Third Space is a dynamic, cozy spot to post up and do your homework, escape the rat race and enjoy a delicious coffee. They have all kinds of seating arrangements so you'll definitely find a spot that suits you best.
They make a mean latte from locally made, single-origin coffee beans. Keep it simple with an original latte to best taste the well developed flavours that are created with love by the charismatic baristas. If you find yourself staying put for a few hours, don't worry, they have delicious food too! It's a beautiful space in which to stay caffeinated and motivated.
Caramel macchiato at Kettle Valley Coffee and Scoops
This lovely family oriented coffee shop in the Mission feels like an escape from real life into a cozy village. They brew Kelowna-made Cherry Hill Coffee (which is made in Kettle Valley)and turn it into all kinds of decadent coffee drinks.
The most delicious has to be the caramel macchiato, where the sweetness perfectly balances the coffee. Come for a coffee date and even bring the kids as they have a super cute kids corner for them to play in!
As the weather cools and the leaves change colour, fall is the best time of year to #TreatYoSelf!
