  • Most in-demand jobs are tech based

    With graduation upon many Canadians, Slice.ca has named the highest paying in-demand jobs.

    The website Glassdoor created the list and it’s a mix of the traditional high paying positions like doctors and pharmacists and highly skilled tech jobs like an analytics manager. Even though the list is American, Workopolis, a Canadian career recruiting website says that the Canadian market is very comparable.

    In fifth place is a Finance Manager. A finance manager is responsible for providing financial advice and support to clients. The average base salary for a position like this would be $123,534.

    The fourth most in demand job is a software development manager. A development manager is in charge of keeping a development team on track, making sure the team is communicating, planning projects and managing the commercial side of development, just to name a few tasks. The average salary for a software development manager starts at $123,747.

    The third highest paying in-demand job is a software architect. Someone looking to nail down this job must be a software expert who makes high-level design choices. They must also have knowledge in software coding.

    The second most in demand job right now is a pharmacy manager. Someone who has this role must be a licensed pharmacist, who has the ability to be a leader, as they oversee other licensed pharmacists in the office. The average salary for a pharmacy manager is $131,099.

    The most in-demand and highest paying job in 2016 is without a doubt a physician. The base salary for a physician is $212,270. Someone with this career diagnoses and treat injuries and illnesses.
