Breaking News:

This is some breaking news!

  • Expect a smoky couple of days for the Okanagan

We’re now into September and the smoke is sticking around.

It’s been an on and off issue all summer long and it looks like it’ll continue for the next little bit.

The smoke forecast for Western Canada shows the smoke getting worse over Kelowna and the rest of the Okanagan on Tuesday morning.

It’ll then hover for at least the next couple of days with no signs of relief.

To make things worse, the air quality is expected to be some of the worst we’ve seen so far, with fine particulate matter (PM2.5) levels getting up over 150.

Environment Canada has issued yet another special air quality statement regarding smoke in the Okanagan and many surrounding areas.

The weather forecast won’t help things much either, as the next three days are all expected have highs in the low to mid 30s.

There should be some relief on Friday, however, with a high of just 27°C and a 70% chance of showers in the forecast.
