The RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of a Merritt woman.

Mounties were called to help BC Emergency Health Service on Saturday with a woman in medical distress on Nicola Avenue.

The woman, a Merritt resident in her twenties, died of her injuries at the scene.

Investigators say foul play is suspected in the woman' s death.

No other details have been released at this time.
