Long-term stabilization work has begun at the site of the August 2023 landslide near Summerland.
At the start of November, the Ministry of Transportation warned drivers that new traffic patterns would be going into place and work was about to pick up in the area.

Commuters will feel the effects of that this week, as Hwy 97 will be limited to single-lane traffic in both directions due to ongoing construction work.
The work will take place Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with crews taking a break on Tuesday for Remembrance Day.
According to DriveBC, the highway will also be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic at times throughout the week to “accommodate road marking eradication and painting.”
Scheduled work hours at the site near Callan Road are 7 am until 5 pm daily.
