    Single-day closure coming for section of Ellis Street on Thursday

    Motorists are being advised of a downtown Kelowna road closure coming later this week.

    According to the City, Ellis Street will be closed between Hwy 97 and Leon Avenue for utility work on Thursday.

    The street will be fully shut down to vehicle traffic between 8 am and 4 pm, but pedestrian access will remain open during that time.

    Westbound traffic will need to detour via Leon Avenue or Lawrence Avenue to get to Hwy 97, while highway traffic will have to enter downtown via Richter Street or Water Street instead.

    The City asks all motorists to abide by safety personnel instructions, posted construction signage and fencing to ensure people’s safety while work is ongoing.
